Manufacturing equipment for mineral makeup
Hi everyone! I’m starting my own makeup company. I want to make loose mineral powders. I’ve been playing with formulas a bit using a coffee grinder (I know…) but it’s now time for me to start looking into more professional equipment. Do you have any tips on where to start? Any recommendations for specific products? What equipment would be the bare minimum for powder mixing? Thank you all in advance!

it depends how much you’re planning to make at any given time - a planetary mixer for industrial catering works well from a few hundred grams up to a few kilograms, while for larger quantities, a ribbon blender is the most efficient tool for the job

Thank you so much for your answer! I don’t think I will be making more than 1-2 kg at the time. Do you think that mixing the ingredients is enough? Or do I have to grind them as well? I’m sorry if it’s a basic question. I’m a makeup artist, so I know what I expect of a product in terms of performance, but I’m still figuring out how to get there. As I’ve mentioned, so far I’ve been grinding all my powders, so I’m just wondering whether mixing them instead would make a difference.
