  • Making oils/silicones/esters miscible with each other.

I’m beginning to think I got it all wrong… I can recall reading an article explaining how to mix something like dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane, C12-15 alkyl benzoate, castor oil, etc. with each other by applying a correct order of addition.
This should give a non-cloudy and uniform mix.

I searched happi, C&T, prospector. Looked in a textbook and I can’t find it. Did I imagine it?

I’m making a kind of a hair spray made of those for detangling and shine and it’s completely cloudy.

    Help anyone?

    Thanks so much Elise!

I remember reading Bob’s comment back then and thinking I know what he’s referring to. I think that’s enough info there to put me on the right track.
If i find the original article at some point, i’ll post it.

If you get this to succeed, ensure you do thorough stability testing before proceeding to anything marketable.

Silicone oils are notably difficult to form clear products with non-silicone materials.
