    That post/link(s) -  promotional list of Shulke’s preservatives and Parmetol DF35 data sheet that doesn’t even list actives.
    DF35 is marketed for household products, not cosmetics.  The active is  chloromethyl isothiazolinone - a older but good bactericide .  Cosmetic grades are used only in rinse off products, unstable at alkaline pH and need an antifungal and chelating agents.  It’s b een the go-to preservative for 30 years  in most of the shampoos, body washes in the world.

    @PhilGeis hhh the data sheet contains list actives . Then I said take a look for parmetol category the second link was just an example.
     Preservative without specifying can be for detergent, cosmetic and more. It is a start point to  find the desired one.

    Folks should not use in cosmetics, materials intended for household products even if the same actives.
    You can find similar lists of combinations from  Inolex, Thor and other suppliers - some reasonably good, some pretty flakey.

       Hello @PhilGeis

    What is the robust pairing preservative with Euxyl K 120 (Methylchloroisothiazolinone/Methylisothiazolinone) in herbal acidic shampoo/facewashes?
    we have EDTA, Parabens, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol.

    At 5 ppm active, I’ve used it successfully with 2600 ppm benzoate and EDTA.  Parabens/EDTA is also a good combination.  Think you don’t need phenoxy or benzyl alcohols.

    @PhilGeis please correct me.
    Paraben is antifungal and weakest against gram negative bacteria and Shampoo is most susceptible to gram negative bacteria. So how is Paraben a good option for shampoo?

    Sorry - my comment was confusing - parabens/EDTA WITH chloromethylisothiazolinone.
    Parabens./EDTA alone is not - but good addition to chloromethyl isothiazolinone that is excellent vs bacteria, esp. Gram negatives.

    @PhilGeis  if we go for paraben free, can Euxyl K12+EDTA+Sodium Banzoate work for acidic / Herbal Shampoo/facewash ?  or what other combination for paraben free with Euxyl K 120 works?
    Thanks.

    OK.  You describe an excellent system - in almost all the Pantene, Aussie, Head and Shoulders, Old Spice, Ivory, etc.  for decades.

    @amitvedakar Euxyl k120 is my actual preservative for my products , it is effective and economical however you should be careful in hot process because the temperature of add for it is 40 °C or below.

    In product or process - unstable @ alkaline pH-esp. with amines, oxidizing and reducing agent,  in dilute aqueous solution.  Do not use in leave on products.   Best with EDTA and needs some help vs. fungi.

    This is an interesting look at preservatives used in sunscreen.

    @Perry
    Boy Perry - think this guy makes some odd statements..
    Benzyl alcohol - 2% is well beyond typical use levels and Eu limit is 1%.  It’s pretty weak vs Gram + bacteria and oxidizes primarily to benzaldehyde and an almond odor.  It could further oxidize to benzoic acid but no way enough to preserve.
    Cap glycol would be weakest vs fungi and should be a booster, not a stand alone or a central element.

    @PhilGeis - in his defense he’s an Australian based formulator with a focus on sunscreen testing. This is why formulators still need the input of microbiologists.
