  • Looking for Dimethicone UK supplier - For a lighter feel massage oil

    Hi, I’m looking for Dimethicone 350 cs or 500 cs supplier in the UK.
    I want to use it to make vegetable oil based massage oil feel lighter, the only supplier I can find for Dimethicone is 1000 cs.
    Perhaps you can tell who sells what I need in the UK, or perhaps you have suggestions for an alternate chemical for what I am trying to do?

    <div>Can I get the same effect as the 350 cs by just using less of the 1000 cs?

    </div>

    Do I need less of a thicker (high resistance to flow / high viscosity) dimethicone to achieve a similar feel to using more of a thinner (low resistance to flow / low viscosity) dimethicone?

    @sunnyday Are you seeking a distributor for dimethicones in the UK, or advice on dimethicone formulation here? There are many distributors of all chemical ingredients in the UK. Start with Brenntag and work your way downward. As for 1000cst in massage oil formulation, this is a good choice given the longer playtime than the 350. You may reduce that viscosity to get more cushioning effect by adding light esters blended with D5 cyclomethicone, in turn miscible with 1000, or by themselves if selecting the right ones.

    Thank you for your answer. I was seeking both, distributors in the UK and advice.

    Do you know what kind of percentages I need of the Dimethicone to give vegetable a lighter feel, so that its more like grape seed oil in feel?

    It seems to me you are trying to mix polar and non-polar lipids?
