    Hello Experts,

I need some help, I am currently working on lipgloss and I am having some issues. The first one product is mixed well but after letting it sit for a couple of days it starts to look darker from the top and when I mix again, it has a different tone of color to it. Second problem I have is on the other batch, I have used glitter and it settles to the bottom. How can I fix both problems. Below is my formula. Thanks in advance ☺️

    VERSAGEL 20% , Vitamin E 15% Castro oil 10%, polybutene 30%, Hydrogenated polyisobutene 10% dimethicone 5% , silica 10%

1st problem - Technically the reason the color is going to the bottom is because you don’t have any suspending agent or actual viscosity in the product to keep all the pigments suspended. Use one of the Bentone Gel at 3-5%, if you are not already using dispersions, use them to obtain the color, pearls if you have enough viscosity they will mix easily with no problem.

2nd Problem - Change those percentages you have there. Do the following:

Versagel in Hydrogenated polyisobutene at 40%

Polybutene at 3% (I don’t really think you need this)

    Castor Oil at 20%

    Hydrogenated polyisobutene at 15%

    Dimethicone at 10%

    Silica Dimethyl Silicate at 5%

    Vitamin E Acetate at 1%

Put the rest in castor oil or Hydrogenated polyisobutene

It’s a lipgloss, you don’t want silica in that.
