Is Niacinamide heat stable?
I am adding Niacinamide to my hot process emulsified face cream but I am concerned whether I should add it to the cooling phase (<40°C) of the process or take it in the water phase. Please suggest.

Chemically speaking, the niacinamide molecule is quite stable and has a great heat tolerance. When it comes to an emulsion, where the heating goes up to 80-85 °C sometimes, the niacinamide can handle well, if it’s not heated for prolonged time.
Even so I always add NAM or any other actives to the cooling phase and I recommend you to do so. Just add some water in the phase of NAM to solubilize it

As mentioned, Niacinamide is very stable.
However, personally I would add that after emulsification. Where the temperature would drop to at least <70°C. Is it water soluble, so it would go into your formula very easily.
