    Hi, all.
I realize it’s not ideal, but might I be able to use an herbal extract that comes in capsules in my skin care formulation (at least during the product-development phase)?  This one product in particular has the following listed as inactive ingredients: silicone dioxide, magnesium stearate, and cellulose (not including the ingredients used to create the capsule itself).  Is there a way I might be able to filter out these inactive ingredients somehow, or not really feasible?  Thank you.

Depends on the type of extract (which solvent has been used to produce the extract).
The listed additives probably wouldn’t hurt if you left them inside, they’re pretty standard in cosmetic formulations.
