Instant one minute wrinkle eraser/lift formulation
Hi,I was formulating today with sodium silicate (waterglass) to try and copy the popular “instant lift” formulations. I found this:As I had the waterglass, I skipped the making of this from the silica beads and instead of citric acid I used lactic acid. I also used Xanthan gum 1% instead of VeegumRecipe is like this:water 75%Waterglass 17%Xanthan gum 1%lactic acid to pH 10.5I think (as it gelled really quickly) that I brought my pH below 9.83 (Pka of Sodium Silicate as described in the link) and maybe created silicic Acid?Upon application, regardless of how little used, this turned into a chalky residue and I looked like I had flour covering my face. Can anyone understand what is happening here, and why this white residue? Is this due to silicic acid and would it not work then?Very grateful for any information!Rosa
