Ingredients supply. What’s it like where you are?
I’m in Australia. Currently there is NO alcohol available. Not even the big guys can get hold of it. There is also no Carbomer and many other ingredients to make hand sanitiser are sold out. There is also no packaging. I’ve never known it like this.
What’s it like where you are? Are any other countries suffering from a lack of supply?

I have noticed many of the bottles are sold out, where I purchase my packaging. Needless to say….TP as well
I think the bottles I buy…can double as handsoap/sanitizer bottles.
(United States)….They need to take the Alcohol out of our gasoline…and make it available to the world!!!

Where i am, there was no alcohol & no sanitizing products for about a few weeks, though right now there’s sufficient supply for consumers to purchase or for DIYing.
Feeling kind of lazy and also the price of ethanol isn’t very competitive, so i’ve also bought a 5 litre 70% ethanol & a 5 litre sanitizer gel since it’s cheaper.

It is like a stock market situation. I placed an order for 240 pump dispenser bottles. Order went through on the site, BUT!!! it doesnt mean they actually have it in stock. So we were told only 160 were left. And this morning we received an email that they were completely sold out. Keep in mind we paid in full for 240 bottles a day prior. When we finally reached someone, we were told that they had our order in a box with 127 bottles.
Things come in and out of stock but you never know how long it will last. It is enough to drive you crazy. I did have a few wins early on like “scoring” 2.2 kg of Carbopol 940 (out of 3.0 kg that I had ordered), 3kg of triethanolamine from another supplier. I have had some luck with Alcohol, 3 suppliers but the price is about to shoot up, so I stocked up.
The packaging situation is driving me crazy, I have small amounts of different types of bottles and I need to make different label sizes and I certainly don’t have enough packaging! Anyway, needed to rant.

I do have small amounts of Sepimax Zen on hand which i have been using it with 70% IPA, and also various types of Ultrez though i’m waiting for my TEA & Aminomethyl Propanol to test.

I am also in Australia.We have had the same issues with the supply of most ingredients used in hand sanitisers (alcohol and carbopol) and also with benzalkonium chloride, SLES and cocamidopropyl betaine.We have also had issues with packaging as a lot of it is manufactured in China.I am currently asking my suppliers for carbomers that are not good for alcohol hand gels to replace one we use in a hand cleanser with beads that we can currently not get due to the shortage.
