  • How would you change this formula?

I’ve been working on developing a cream wash off mask that not necessarily does a ton past a bit of moisturizing, cooling and soothing but is something really pampering and enjoyable to use as I do find value in the ritual of skincare. I’m a minimalist when it comes to ingredients and I prefer synthetic ingredients and don’t work with plant extracts at all. I recently tried out this formula and I love it (haven’t tested it for stability yet).

I would like to know what some of you would do differently in this formula than what I have done.

    Water 55.5
    Glycerin 25
    Propylene glycol 5
    Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer 1
    Titanium dioxide 0.5
    Isopropyl myristate 5
    Isopropyl isostearate 5
Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG 100 Stearate 1.5
    Dimethicone 1
Propylene Glycol (and) Diazolidinyl Urea (and) Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate 0.5

You should send out samples, that would really help.
You’re happy with your product and it works (assuming stability testing comes out fine) which means it’s a good product when neglecting consumers and marketing. Why do you want changes?
I would have done it differently…. mostly for the reason I prefer less synthetic ingredients and like plant extracts (because I like plants, not because cosmetic plant extracts would do much).
Things you could try: Swap propylene glycol for a non-polyol humectant such as betaine. Use a silicone polymer/film former/elastomer instead of dimethicone.

Looks good to me.  I might add some Petrolatum, Mineral Oil or Lanolin but it depends on how you want the formula to feel.  The  propylene glycol seems a little redundant (with the Glycerin) but I suppose it could change the feel.
