  How long does deionized water stay deionized in HDPE?

  If deionized water is stored in HDPE 1000litre intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), 200L UN HDPE barrels, or even smaller 5L jerry cans, for how long would this water remain deionized?

  Storage ambient temperature is between 24 and 29 degrees Celsius (if it’s relevant).

  I think that would depend on the quality and composition of the HDPE. It would also depend on the limits of what you would still consider deionized water.  But the primary problem is that the pH of distilled water can change over time as it is exposed to air. It absorbs Carbon Dioxide to produce carbonic acid. So, check the pH before using.
