  • How do they stabilize silicone in these two shampoos?

Posted by Abdullah on June 26, 2023 at 10:36 pm

These two shampoos are from big brands. They both have silicone but doesn’t have EGDS to stabilize that silicone. <div>

My question is how is silicone stabilized in these products?

Would the polyquats provide enough suspension/ viscosity? and also potentially form coacervates that would entrap the silicones and further stabilize?

      I don’t think so.

In my experience even 1% HPMC doesn’t suspend silicone

Since the first one is from P&G and the second from L’oreal, chances are they are using microemulsions which don’t cream as macroemulsions, not requiring a super efficient suspending agent.
