Hello, here is my shampoo bar formula

    SCI(powder) 73%

    SLSa 7%

    coconut oil 5%

    BTMS 5%

    cetyl 4$

    CAPB 2%

    witch hazel 2%

    optiphen plus 1%

    fragrance 1%

My dough does not come together and become moldable without a blast in the microwave till it reaches 185F

I watched a lot of humblebee and me’s shampoo bar recipes and hers comes together like a playdough without heat besides melting the occasional hardeners. How can I get that with my formula? I also want to lower the SCI content to 40% I tried to sub it with cornstarch at 33% which worked but still didnt come together unless i microwaved it. Any guidance would be appreciated. I want to keep the rest of the formula roughly the same.

Try increasing your CAPB and decreasing your SCI. You need more liquid.

Do you melt your BTMS, cetyl alcohol and coconut oil?
