Can you grind pigments or powders that are coated or does it destroy them? For example, Titanium dioxide treated with dimethicone or talc treated with methicone?

Should I grind iron oxides that are water dispersible or can it affect how they function and/or not necessary.

I have had a foundation on my list of things to make for awhile and don’t want to screw the ingredients up before they go into the formula.

    Thanks in advance!

Aren’t these already in powder form? I have used these ingredients to make a face primer and there was no need to grind them and they mixed nicely into my product (mind you the one I made was anhydrous).

I have had that exact same question for so long and still don’t have an answer. Not even just treated T.D., but things like magnesium stearate, boron nitride, serecite mica………..to grind or not to grind………that is the question.
