  • Fullerene as an Antioxidant for O/W Emulsions?

Posted by Spadirect on April 21, 2022 at 6:08 pm

What has been your experience or your impression (even without direct experience) about using Fullerene (example “Radical Sponge N” by Vitamin C60 Bioresearch) as an antioxidant and/or for other functions in an O/W formulation?

Any comments or discussion about the use of Fullerene in O/W emulsion products would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

I haven’t used it but whenever I hear about a new technology a few questions occur to me.

    1. What problem is it solving? We already have antioxidants. Why would we need another?

    2. Is it less expensive? Does it work better? It is easier to formulate with?

    3. What is a compelling reason to use this new material rather than the existing technologies?

I don’t know the answers, but I suspect that this ingredient simply solves a problem that has already been solved but does it in a more expensive, more complicated way.

crazy claims. I know it’s a DIY supplier but they copy claims and use guidelines from large suppliers. The price isn’t encouraging either.

I would never use NPs specially NOT for such an application as an antioxidant where u can have other safer (with enough evidence) and cheaper options
