Formulating water-based serums
Can anyone suggest an approach to improve the rate of absorption of a water-based serum? Thanks.

Please be careful with this. @bobzchemist thanks for the links. I realized that I used the wrong descriptor; instead of saying “absorption” I should have said “rub-in”. Since my system is almost 90% water I’m having difficulty getting the product to rub-in to the skin quickly. Want to have some ‘playtime’ but not much. Thickening is provided by Dow Corning 2051. The system also contains DC9045 and Glycerin. My suspicion is that there aren’t enough solids.

I’d suspect that too. Have you tried anything like Dry-Flo? Is there room for ethanol in the formula?
You might also want to think about an alternate thickener. -
@pvt its more like an emulsion rather than completely water based, the emulsion looks good with it but with so much water it would take time to rub-in completely. Try replacing a part of water with cyclomethicone so that the play time could be reduced. Add it after mixing all the ing at the end of process.
