Dissolving Texapon N70
Posted by Bimsmide on April 5, 2014 at 12:46 pmHi everyone, I want to know how best to dissolve Texapon used in dishwash liquid. Dissolving in water takes too long time (24hrs or more) and I thought there should a better way.

solubility depends on the % of SLES you are using in your formula. You can give heat while gentle stirring. this is the simple way to dissolve it quickly.

Isn’t it already in liquid form? If so use heat to get it into water.

Bimsmide - do you have the 70% SLES version which can be a pain to dilute. Add the paste to the water and stir slowly. Heating helps, but still it takes a some time to go in. Alternatively, add the paste cold and use a homogeniser to break up the paste into small bits whilst stirring it in. Put the homogeniser on the slowest speed possible, so that it just picks up the paste and disperses it without dragging in air, otherwise you’ll get lots of foam and a long wait for it to disperse.

@Bimsmide - the “better” way is using some short-chain alcohol to thin the paste before dissolving the soap in water - but this means that you need to have a mixer powerful enough to stir the undiluted Texapon…
One way or another, you have to pay the price to get the Texapon dissolved.
