  Dimethicone vs dimethiconol ?

  How do they differ from each other?
  The -OH groups don’t make it water soluble.

  I’ve tried applying them on hair
  at normal concentrations (dissolved in cyclomethicone) I didn’t notice any difference
  at high concentrations, or 100% pure, dimethiconol feels a bit “wet” and “colder” afterwards, unlike dimethicone.

  How can you choose one over the other for hair and skin applications?
