  • Cosmetic Testing Labs - how to know if they are legit?

Posted by Lila on May 25, 2021 at 7:28 pm

Hi. We need to test Bath Salts for a Microbiological limits and Toxic Element/Heavy metals. We got quotes from several Labs and the coblarlabs.com/faq/ provided the best price quote. When I wanted to find out more about this Lab - there is no other information online besides their own website. The question: what one should look for when hire the Lab (certification, etc)? what questions should I ask them? how do i know if they are legit? Has anyone heard/worked with that particular Lab? Thank you very much in advance.

Suggest you ask for their last FDA audit.

PhilGeis the Lab got back to me and on the question about last FDA audit the answer I received was: “We are a laboratory broker. The laboratory we work with for amazon customers is ISO 17025 certified. ” I am a bit lost on what to ask them next…or just proceed with the testing? Is it common that you deal with lab through broker? Thank you.

Ask for the lab so you can directly inquire.  I’d not work through a broker.  I think ISO 17025 does not address technical elements of tests per se but more the management, flow and supporting elements like calibration.

Thank you PhilGeis. I asked them, awaiting for reply. Here is the snapshot of sample of test results they are providing on their website. Does it look legit?

    Thank you a lot again.
