Cosmetic Business Consultant
Hi guys! I am currently in R&D with a lab who will be manufacturing the first non-handmade promotional run of my 4 of my products in my line (I have 16 total products currently). Although I learn a lot through research, it would be nice to have a consultant who knows the business side of things that I could pay for professional advice. These would be questions about finding and targeting distributors, learning about appropriate fee and commission structures, and generally how it works post-production (do I need to hire shipment companies to get the products to the distributors’ warehouses), etc. Does anyone have any suggestions about consultants for this side of the business?

What market(s) are you looking to sell in? That will make a big difference as to who I would recommend that you contact for support.
If you are based in the United States, you can contact the Small Business Administration for a lot of these questions but once I know where you are trying to sell, I can give you a better answer concerning consultants.

Hi Stacy,
The products are for hair care. We will be marketing/selling to salons as a professional line and selling direct via ecommerce on the brand website, kavella.com. We are based out of Los Angeles.
I was at the CosmoProf convention over the weekend and only found one consultant based out of New York.
