Hi, this is my first post but I have been around for many years. Not a chemist, but been formulating for a long time. I have been looking for answer about copper chloride and read some articles that copper chloride/salt can be added to a deodorant instead of aluminum as an antiperspirant, they won’t claim it but l I’m not sure how well it work. Has anyone formulate with it in a deodorant?

Nope, never heard of using any cuprous salt in that application. Cuprous sulfate will burn & clean out the roots growing in your sewer pipe though. Seriously, no, don’t do that. If the purpose of the metal salt is sebum and sweat absorption just add rice starch, corn starch or tapioca starch.

Note that in the study Copper Chloride was combined with salicylic acid (4%), ethanol (4%) in PG base. So the study proves the combination works better that the same combination without Copper Chloride. It means to be proven you need replicate the same combination, which make it a drug due to high SA percentage.
