  Comparation of two preservative blends for effectiveness

  These two preservative blends have almost the same price.

  A

  0.9% phenoxyethanol

  0.1% ethylhexylglycerin

  B

  0.7% phenoxyethanol

  0.3% Phenethyl alcohol

  If i choose one to use with an anti fungal and EDTA in emulsion, which blend with have better preservation powder?

  Prob not much difference but use the 1st - there are some data for EHG as booster. I’d drop the phenoxy to 0.5%.

  I don’t know why anyone would bother with Phenethyl alcohol as a preservative when they can use phenoxy.

    According to this chart, there is some synergy between phenoxyethanol and Phenethyl alcohol compared to phenoxyethanol alone. <div>
