Im trying to replicate an oil based clay pomade that says it uses just 4 ingredients. Bentonite clay, Beeswax, Coconut Oil and Fragrance.

It may be my problem but I have replaced the Bentonite with Kaolin Clay and have also added sunflower oil.

Ive made 6 samples so far using completely different ratios from Kaolin at 5% up to over 50%. In the end the end product always is ok (firm) to scoop but goes too oily in my palms with little hold or tack. My beeswax started at 25% but is down to 13% as I have added more clay.

Im willing to add more ingredients to my formula and Im after a more rubbery type finish. Ive scoured the net but am obviously looking in the wrong places for different formulas or ideas. Can anyone point me in the right direction with advice or sites to look up or learn from. Cheers.
