    Hi,

I make baby oil product with the LOIs in below, but after a few weeks in room temperature its color is changed although i used Tocopherol 0.2% in the formulation as a anti-oxidant agent

    Caprylic/Capric
    Triglyceride
Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil
    Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil
    Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil

thank you very much in advance for your time

Antioxidants don’t absolutely prevent oxidation, and light also promotes oxidation

@Chemist77 Almond oil has dark color than the other one. i would like to claim this product has almond oil so i will reduce it and increase % of tocopherol

You mentioned it changed color upon aging, so that does indicate oxidative instability, no matter what. You also mention sunflower oil twice (??) Did you use high oleic (H.O.) sunflower? If not, there is your problem. Also, not all tocopherols are same as anti-oxidants. Use Coviox T-50 (BASF), which is mixed tocopherols, for best results. Even better, use rosemary oleoresin.

Jan Dekker only uses mixed tocopherols (high in gamma and delta tocopherols).
I use their Phytrox LTR15-IP, with ascorbyl palmitate and rosemary included.

What I actually meant to say was: if you use Tocomix L50-IP, you’re already using a good tocopherol blend, as Jan Dekker only has tocopherol blends with mainly gamma and delta tocopherols (and not alpha).
Do you use it at recommended levels?

The Phytrox LTR15-IP however is said to have stronger anti-oxidant activity, as the ascorbyl palmitate and rosemary should work synergystically.
