Hi, i used a surfactant blend for shampoo

    The Blend has :

    35% C14-16 olefin sulfonate
    13 % Sodium Cocoamphoacetate
    2% Cocamide Mipa

the amount of this blend in my shampoo is 36 %

    Is used is with 1 % pq7 1 % pq113

    0,3 % Kao sofcare gp1 and 1% Amodimethicone Blend.

normaly ist just a Little Slip and a clean feeling after wash.

But with this surfactant Blend it’s very heavy and greasy.

why? Is it the mipa? Do u have an idea what to do? Generally I love the surfactant because it’s easy to thicken and it has a ph of 5 .

I know I can lower the conditioning agents. But I think that’s not the reason for the greasiness.

@Ahlmeyer When you mention “normaly ist just a Little Slip and a clean feeling after wash”, what are you comaping this blend to? Did you have a different surfactant system before?

@ketchito I worked with iselux sfb. But I don’t like the smell.

I think the Cocamide mipa is the problem.
I would lower the blend to 20 %. Than there is 1 % Cocamide Mipa in the formulation.
I would also add 12 % pure olefin sulfonate to get an anionic active around 12% .

    what do you think?

How much is the conditioning ingredients in active percentage?

And how is the foam profile of this product?

Pq 7 is 0,1 . And the pq113 I don’t know yet. But I can feel that the problem must be the Cocamide mipa. It’s like a fatty film. It foam’s very well.

Greasy feel after washing with C14-16 olefin sulfonate meant it is from your conditioning ingredients, not a surfactant.
    Maybe from amodimethicone.

replace cocamide mipa with cocamide dea or at ph 5 use cocamidopropyldimethyl amine oxide
