    Hello!

I come from a pharma world where there has been historically focus on avoiding animal based derivatives in both ingredients and even in the equipment components and plastics used in final packaging. I guess I am just curious as to the feeling about this with cosmetic use. I hypothesize that a risk based approach is used depending on the type of material and amount in the product. Is this something that cosmetic formulators are concerned with.? What about worse case senarios for application of high animal derived proteins or content ingredients to cuts etc…..
Another cause for concern may be epoxy resins or polycarbonates that contain BPA is this something to avoid in packaging for example…are people concerned about this? do you need to get BSE/TSE certificates from suppliers ever?
