Posted by OldPerry on January 7, 2014 at 1:22 pmI received a request for a chemist to help someone formulate a DHA product. If you’re interested, send me a message and I’ll put you in contact with the requestor.

I remember once making a gel with xanthan gum and DHA. Have to use around 5% active for a week’s effect. I cant recollect all of it but there was a lotion and gel both. The results were good too.

@perry I do a lot of work with DHA. Not really interested in the formulating end if we can’t manufacture for them too.

I have made a few products with DHA in combination with other synergistic ingredients to enhance the tanning process. Please email Shilpi@skinveda.com

I worked on different dosage forms with DHA. Also combined with ingredients that support DHA in tanning process. Let me know if I can be of help.

If I recollect then I remember my DHA lotion was based on Steareth-2 and 21 and it turned out to be quite OK as I could maintain the required pH as well. Make sure the pH doesnt cross 3.5-4 (better to be lower side), also there was another ingredient that I used to enhance the efficacy of DHA. Guess it was erythrulose, used xanthan from CP Kelco at that time. This is just a skeletal idea, if anyone adopts and optimizes then I am sure something might come out of this. The tan lasted for a week, tried on myself to make sure.
