  • Cloudiness after adjusting pH of my shampoo

    Hello there! I need help for my shampoo. I intended to make a clear/ translucent non-sulfate shampoo but somehow it became white/ cloudy once I adjusted my pH to around 5.5. The original pH was around 8.5 and it was pretty clear. Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks!

    Water qs

    Tetrasodium EDTA 0.1%

    C12-14 Sodium Olefin Sulfonate 6%

    CAPB 13.5%

    Sodium Lauroamphoacetate 3%

    PEG-150 Distearate 0.2%

    Coco-glucoside + Glyceryl Oleate 0.5%

    Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride 0.2%

    PQ-7 1.5%

    Cocamide DEA 3%

    Decyl Glucoside 3.5%

    C12-15 Pareth-15 2%

    Fragrance 1.8%

    PE 9010 1%

    Do you also add sodium chloride? You could try one sample without PQ-7 and adding Guar HPTC at the start (before the surfactants).

    My approach in producing shampoo is different. I saponify coconut oil to produce a lathering and very cleansing shampoo.
