But most soap bar makers use a formulation found on the internet, a bone-lazy approach that permanently relegates your soap bar to mediocrity.

I have been producing soap bars for 20+ years. At full production, 1,000 bars/day.

But it took me one year to get my basic soap bar formulation right, and that does not include fragrance. That’s more work!!

Indeed, my aim was to produce the longest-lasting bar in the marketplace. Customers will pay premium prices for this type of value.

In fact, you may also be surprised to know that my basic soap bar formulation includes just two oils: coconut oil and palm oil. These two oils produce the best bars: coconut oil for lather and palm oil for hardness.

For the “palm oil-free” advocates. Yes, Certified RSPO palm oil is available.

The secret to getting the perfect soap bar with these two oils is the exact ratio of coconut to palm oil. This took me one year of experimentation.

So, there it is—the secrets of the perfect soap bar. Even though I was producing thousands of bars, I was struggling to keep up with customer demand. Of course, the soap fragrance played a role, but that’s another story.

I have formulated for several brands globally.

For example, https://ajikesheacentre.com/ We started from zero, and now they are exporting to the USA and globally. I have done similar with other brands in South Africa and other parts of the world.

I too have been making soap for over 2 decades and my formulas did not come from the internet. Trial and error, getting to know the FA profiles of the oils used and which ones compliment each other. It’s all dependent on what the end goal for the soap is, as to how you’re going to formulate. One size does not fit all. Congratulations on all your success.
