Hello! I am working on a pomade-hair gel formulation. This is my first time formulating these type of products.

This is my first draft for the base formula, I will work on the scents and colorants later. Is it a good start for my formulation? I have no experience with these ingredients.

Phenoxyethanol should not be greater than 1%, 0.5-0.8% is good.

    What’s product pH?

Thank you for the replies. I do not know the pH for the finished product. I was reading the range should be 5.5 - 6.5. I am thinking to add 1.5 % of Caprylyl Glycol

Total Level of ceteareth 40% is too high and I guess you passed the maximum level of use, your pH will be more then wanted. The most difficult thing in pomade is process not formulation.

Thank you!. I will reduce the ceteareths to 12% each to start.

Not bad level to start maybe as total 25%.
