Preserving a clay mask - combining preservatives and chelating agents advice
Hello, I am looking to make an emulsified clay mask but want to make sure I am creating a robust preservative system as the product would possibly contain botanicals, water and clay. This is what I started with for my formula originally, but as I am doing more reading I would want to add liquid germall plus or phenonip to the formulation:
66.9% Chamomile Distillate (preserved with leucidal liquid)
6.7% Emulsifying Wax Soft & Silky (Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Ceteareth-20)
2.5% Stearic Acid
14% Bentonite Clay
7% Hemp Seed Oil
1.6% Chamomile Extract
1.1% Euxyl PE 9010
0.2% Tetrasodium EDTA
So my question is, what can I change in this formula in terms of preservation or removing botanicals to make it as stable and safe as possible? Planning on only using for personal use but I know clay is notoriously difficult to preserve. Thank you!
