Vitamin C serum problem
Hi! Recently I’ve made some test serums with vitamin C and most of them have dissolving problem. Please help me with the recipe.
Test 1:
7% pentylene glycol + 0,5% ferulic acid - heated until ferulic acid dissolves. After cooling down I added 5% L-ascorbic acid and the water. Then I added this to the beaker with 1% tocopherol dissolved in 10% pentylene glycol. This serum was clear.Test 2:
3% ethoxydiglycol + 7% pentylene glycol + 0,5% ferulic acid - heated until ferulic acid dissolves. After cooling down I added 5% L-ascorbic acid and the water. While mixing it, white flakes appeared.
This happenes in different recipes with or without ethoxydiglycol, with or without sodium lactate. Please help me understand why these white flakes appear (after adding the water).
Thank you in advance!
