    Hi
I prepared a shampoo & I need to increase the viscosity. I made many samples with different NaCl concentrations. the maximum viscosity was 11000 with 0.5% NaCl.
    I use a simple formula:
SLES, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, cocamide DEA, PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate, polyquaternium -10, polyquaternium-7, NaCl, Glycerin, citric acid, EDTA, frag, preservative, water
can you help me to increase the viscosity?
what is the correct ratio of Betaine - SLES - cocamide DEA to obtain the highest viscosity?
I want to reach a viscosity of 15000 to 20000 cp
Thank you in advance for your help

    I have another question
how to strengthen the odour of the fragrance without crashing the viscosity

    Hi perry,
I use glycerin to dissolve PQ-10 in water more easily
do you think there is a better way to do this?
    Thank you

20000 ia very high 6000 is enough

DEL the salt & glycerin (as @Perry points out). Polyquaternium-10: disperse and hydrate in water first before adding anything else. Period. No need to pre-disperse. Best ratio for CAPB:SLES (solids) for viscosity is 1:1. The “classic” build ratio with the amide is SLES:CAPB:Coca DEA at 4:2:1, but increasing ratio of CAPB will raise viscosity. Then again as @Andraous said: why 20,000 cps? Hope this will be packaged in a tube.

    Thank you @Perry @chemicalmatt
I omitted glycerin and salt and got an outstanding result.
regarding the concentration of CAPB, do I have to consider that it is supplied as 30%?
    I have tried this before:
    I have SLES 70%, CAPB 30%, so I used 14.3% SLES : 16.6% CAPB : 2.5% Coca DEA
The shampoo was too thin and was not clear or appeared to have precipitation.
