What is the quantity of KOH required to saponify 100g of Coconut oil/Olive Oil 90:10. or PKO oil in place of Coconut Oil to obtain a mild and foaming liquid soap.
However i discovered some company supply Potassuim Cocoate/Potassium Olivate as Potassium salt soap base, but i want to formulate mine from raw basic vegetable oils.

Please any assistance?

Thanks Belassi, i have used several soap calculators e.g thesoapcalculator.com,
But it keeps giving me a thick end product just like the NaOH.
I need a typical liquid form not in solid state.

below is my recepie.

PKO = 100
Water(deionized) = 36
KOH = 24
Lavender Oil = 1

Is it because i am using a hard oil only?, should i include soft oils?

It is not clear what oils you are using. Most vegetable oils will not result in a clear liquid soap.

I’m using the Palm Kernel Oil, but it turns out to be a solid end product instead of a liquid.

How can you use such oil PKO to get a liquid soap having it on high % andyour water low

We do a lot of liquid soap using various combinations of saponified oils. Once saponified it will be solid, The next step is a dilution. The amount of water used depends on the oils. So for the first batches, it is a matter of trial and error to get the correct dilution. For example, with a coconut oil saponification using 18 Kg of coconut oil, in the dilution phase we use 15 Kg of water. In another recipe using about 12 Kg of olive oil, we dilute after cooking with 43 Kg of water.

If you want a clear soap you can only use lipids whose salts are soluble in water. PLEASE do the research. It’s not rocket science.
