Formula Comparison Sheet
Greetings!
Does anyone know of a program or sheet upon which you can list the ingredients for several different versions of one formula and each versions percentages that would make it easier to compare several versions of one formulas to aid in finding the best route to take in perfecting your formula?

The reason I continue to use and recommend Excel spreadsheet is because it is…
- easy to use
- other people are familiar with it
Plus, I’ve seen no demonstrable benefit to using something else. But I’m willing to be convinced. How would my formulating life be different if I didn’t use Excel?

Hello PerryFirst of all, congrats for the site, it is plenty of good material and aids for formulating , good job!I will mention just 3 points that come to my mind for this particular case :
- The requested functionality (formula comparation) is not even implemented in the Excel attached, so, for sure it is easier to learn how to use a software application than struggling with implementation in Excel.
- Even if somebody has implemented it for you, Excel is more “duplication” error prone. If you enter incorrectly a substance doing a typo like “Soudium” , Excel is not smart enough to know that you are referrering the same substance and the comparation will not be correct.
- Excel programation fall short with advanced functionality. For instance, if one of the substance in a formula comes, in turn, from another formula, it will be a pain to have the cost of that line automatically calculated in Excel.
I dont want to bore you with technical jargon , but there are many others benefits (huge amount of data management, integration with third part systems…)It is just…better.
