Here’s a comic which all cosmetic chemists will likely experience in their formulating career.

@Eliza: I totally agree with you. You have to laugh once in a while about all the crazy situations that we cosmetic scientists find ourselves in.

  2. Randy

“Not meant so seriously?” Despite the fact that Dr. Chemistry appears in cartoon form I believe that he still has an obligation to educate, as well as entertain, impressionable young cosmetic scientists.

    1. Eliza

Sorry English is not my native language… What I get from the cartoon is (quoting Perry) ‘thus is the life of a cosmetic chemist’. Sure it is a bit overblown, as it’s a cartoon, so it should be funny. But I can relate from experience with what Perry’s trying to say and it makes me smile 🙂 The reality of a cosmetic chemist to me is sometimes frustrating and hilarious 🙂 How is it for you Randy?

I always thought it was rather ill-advised of Dr Chemistry to expose his young protege to the madness of marketing managers, as exemplified in today’s strip. Wouldn’t it have been better for the good Doctor to meet with Marketing in private, thus sparing his junior collegue from that disillusioning moment? Or did he just not care? Either way I think it says a lot about the character of Dr. C.

    1. Perry

I think the good Dr figured his protege would have to experience it eventually.

    2. Eliza

LOL I think it’s not meant so seriously, right, Perry?
I did have a job like that, as a young protege, and I really hated it, really couldn’t see the fun in it 😉 Now I can, but I wouldn’t go back!

  4. Eliza

LOL That sounds like a terrible job!

    1. Perry

Oh, it’s only a little troubling some times. Mostly the job of a cosmetic chemist is fun!
