    I usually add Amodimethicone emulsion into the formulation during cooling phase..

    If it is dimethicone 100cst, then it can be heated together with other emulsifier or oil, then to be add into the water phase for emulsification.

    If volatile silicone, then it will need to be added at the cooling phase..

    My formulation is:

    Aluminum Chlorohydrate - 15% active

    Steareth 2 - 3% to 5%

    steareth 21 - 1% to 2.5%

    PPG stearyl ether - 2% to 5%

    BHT - 0.1%

    Cyclohexasiloxane, Clyclopentasiloxane - 1% to 2%

    Tetrasodium EDTA - 0.1%

    Fragrance - 0.4% to 0.6%

    Deionised Water - qs

    Hi, I would say your product is more likely like a pomade which is clear, am i correct? I have encountered contamination issue with pomade before. High dosage of ceteareth 25 in the formulation is hard to preserve due to its high ethoxylation system. I have resolved my contamination issue with changed to preservative Benzyl Alcohol + Ethylhexylglycerin (1%) and Caprylyl Glycol (0.5% as a preservative booster). I do not have limitation in pH, unlike sodium benzoate which need to be around pH 5.

    Just curious, how is the precipitation of guar looks like? By looking at your formulation, there is microemulsion of amodimethicone. I would say this is one of the ingredient that need some suspending agent to stabilise the shampoo system.

    Im not sure if it is caused by acrylates C10/30. Any advise which thickener is suitable to use in a salicylic acid mild surfactant cleanser?

    Hi, as the end pH is 3-4, hence, i do not add any preservative into the system..

    - The end pH of my formulation is pH 4 to 5, at this pH Isetionate is not stable at?

    - May i know the reason to remove Glycerin? Actually i will need it to hydrate the xanthan gum?
