Professional Chemist / FormulatorJune 5, 2024 at 9:02 am in reply to: Not good enough preservation system? Or bad production?Hi, I would say your product is more likely like a pomade which is clear, am i correct? I have encountered contamination issue with pomade before. High dosage of ceteareth 25 in the formulation is hard to preserve due to its high ethoxylation system. I have resolved my contamination issue with changed to preservative Benzyl Alcohol + Ethylhexylglycerin (1%) and Caprylyl Glycol (0.5% as a preservative booster). I do not have limitation in pH, unlike sodium benzoate which need to be around pH 5.

Professional Chemist / FormulatorJune 3, 2024 at 4:33 am in reply to: Does cationic guar need high viscosity to be stable in shampooJust curious, how is the precipitation of guar looks like? By looking at your formulation, there is microemulsion of amodimethicone. I would say this is one of the ingredient that need some suspending agent to stabilise the shampoo system.
