The glycerin extract has I guess some water component too…will it be fine to add to sucragel ? I asked on Reddit as well and there they said that water component will not gel the oil effectively and the finished product would become somewhat like a lotion…they recommended first gelling up the extract with gum and then later combine with sucragel-gelled oil.

The effective water content of the herbal extracts that I want to add is 3% …is it too much?

  • the consistency will be like that of a viscous hair serum

  • 10% - (argan oil, jojoba liquid wax ester, red raspberry oil, mango seed oil, squalene)

3% - lemongrass essential oil, bergamot essential oil, mixed tocopherol

20% - oil soluble sunscreen pre made base

    27% - capric/ caprylic triglyceride

    60% done

can you please recommend how to go about the remaining 40% with any 1 or 2 or all of these following ingredients to make the system homogeneous?

    C12-15 alkyl benzoate

    isopropyl mystirate

    coco caprylate

    thanks! I understood.

  • actually I want to make a hair serum (hence comedogenicity is not an issue) with a bit of UV filters cause there is protein degeneration happening under sunlight…I don’t want to make a natural product but it should be non toxic

plant oils are only going to be around 10-15% rest all light ester and UV solvents.

Do you have any oil-soluble broad sprecrum filters in mind that I can experiment with?
