@David08848, if you’d like for me to send you a sample of the Jack Black Beard Lube send me a msg with your address.
-
@Doreen81 I was wondering if I accidentally hit that! Darn it! Lol

@David08848, I haven’t read this entire thread but thought this might be useful. We carry Jack Black products in the spa where I work and they have something called Beard Lube Conditioning Shave. It’s pre-shave Oil - a light-weight emulsion. Thought I’d share the LOI with you in case you still need ideas.
Water, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Macadamia Nut Oil, Jojoba Oil, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Glycerin, Heather Extract, Peppermint Oil, Menthol, Eucalyptus Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Methylparaben, Benzoic Acid, Dimethicone, Phenyl Trimethicone, Lecithin, Dimethiconol, zpropylene Glycol, Cyclomethicone.
Good luck

@Doreen81, I sure will! What kind of mixer did you purchase? Send the link if you have time and don’t mind.
-
@zaidjeber, I sure will.
@em88, not sure if it vibrates at high speed. I’m waiting on some raw materials to arrive so I can try it out.
@Doreen81, I wish you could order it as well. Wonder what the shipping would cost from my location (Atlanta, GA, USA) to yours?

This is the Mophorn Electric Overhead Stirrer Doreen linked above. Got it put together just fine. Can’t wait to try it out. I have a Silverson but it’s time-consuming to clean so I’m hoping I’ll like this mixer. If not I’ll have a raffle and give it away.

Just noticed that all the threads are highlighted as if I’ve read them all.

Rec’d this mixer today. No assembly instructions but I’m sure I can figure it out, and the paperwork included is in Chinese.

I used to looooove those VO5 Hot Oil Treatments lol

MemberJanuary 12, 2018 at 8:48 pm in reply to: Advice needed on ingredients for facial oil for hypersensitive skinI agree with @Belassi - skip the dairy for a bit. That’s what I tell my acneic clients. I realize you dnt have acne but dairy does negative affect the skin. Also you might wanna try the less is more approach for a bit and see if that helps. Very aggravating I’m sure.

Another great post to bookmark!

I’m an Esthetician and I’d skip the oils too!

Good to know bc I’m planning on making a carbomer cream

Excellent comments!
I find it helpful to read posts that don’t specifically apply to what I formulate. There is always a tid bit of info I find useful!

Thanks Bill. Ordered some gum. Can’t wait to try both methods
-
Belassi, thanks for the chuckle (even if it wasn’t meant to be funny). I’ll disburse the gum in glycerin. Doreen I’ve never tried adding it to the heated oil phase but I’m open to different methods. My idea of pre-hydrating the gum seemed like a great idea initially. I believe I was probably thinking just as gld010 did about it being a pain to hydrate.
Thanks everyone!

Disgusting. Glad he’s gone.

www,theherbarie.com has several scrub recipes (among others) that you can try.

Great explanation! Thank you so much Bobzchemist. This was really puzzling. Now I’ll read up on crystallization for a deeper understanding. Your contributions to this forum are invaluable!
