You’re saying the liquid carrier is separating from the waxes/pigment?

Probably isododecane. One thing you could do is changing the casing so one doesn’t see the droplets any longer or switch out isododecane.
Do you have any pictures? Did you remove the casing with the drops and let it sit to see if all the oil really evaporates?

i found one issue i added castor oil in lipstick base. that is not compatible with dimethicon 1.5 may be this was the issue dimethicon seperating from base and the evaporating from lipstick tube.

what i did i removed castor oil from the base and added dimethicon 100 instead of castor oil.. hopefully issue will resolve.
secondly do let me know i adding vitamin e bit now base is free from any natural oil just adding dimethicon 100

    dimethicon 1.5
    isododecane
    cyprylic capric
    candelila wax
    carnauba wax
    cetyl alcohol
    micro crystalline wax
    these are the base ingredients
do i still need to add antioxidant?

Tocopherol is a good idea.  Some use parabens to prevent mold.   TKB Cap 2 (glycols and phenoxyethanol) would be good vs bacteria esp. Gram negative bacteria.  A wax based lipstick is not much of a bacterial risk, and those are are poor vs fungi.
    Perhaps consider just a paraben.

thank you so much for guidance i will keep these points in mind and i will switch to vitamin e tocopherol only. will stop using preservative in lipstick

I always use them up to the expiry date. I don’t believe 100% oil/wax products needs preservatives. I was making lip balms a few tears ago and never added one, just vitamin E and Rosemary extract.

thank you dear for guidance i think i should add vitamin e only

Sale does not require preservative per se.  Is it  classic wax based product?

Re. TKB, think the exp would be for the material meeting its own spec - so within that period it should be as intended.

yes i make wax and oil based lipstick. mostly when we see market bought lipstick ingredients they also add preservatives like parabens on list.

i have tocopherol as well. i think that is enough to add in formula so my oils dont go rancid. am i right?

Ask TKB for an ex. date.  If they can’t/won’t respond, do not use their products.
Are you sure you need a preservative in a lipstick?

yes actually i sell them so i add lip safe preservative in my Lipstick formula. expiry was one year. i bought in last December..so i wanted to ask can i still add that preservative as December is just started or i should buy new one

google ‘lipstick break test’ it is a thing and there are instruments dedicated to it. otherwise, trial and error after adding additional wax. Try candelilla. Speak to Ross Waxes or Strahl&Pitsch for their recommendation.

Thank you so much dear for helping me ❤️❤️❤️

The way I understand usage rates, is that your usage rate should be based on total weight of base.  If your base is 150 grams, TKB cap-2 should be 1.2 - 1.5 grams.  Personally, I don’t like TKB cap-2 because even at the lowest usage rate my lips get numb.  I found another preservative that I will be trying soon.

thanks for your reply. what preservative your found can you plz share so i can use also in my Lip gloss base
