All theory 1,2,3 are applicable when its claimed mild. For ex. Soda Ash is a base with ph 11 and also glucosides with ph 11. Just increasing soda ash from 2% to 3% brings ph upto 12 but on the other side even 10% glucosides makes it 11 only. If you have a formulation with 10% glucosides, it requires only 0.1 to 0.2% acid to bring down the ph to 7 but with 3% Soda ash in the formulation it takes a lot of acid to bring the ph down to that level which clearly shows how harsh and strong soda ash is compared to glucosides.

Is there any firm who would help with stabilising and fixing our current formulations and would help with safer Choice labels.

We are using Glucosides and Sodium Carbonate which is making the pH high. We tried adding Ethanol but essential oils like Lemongrass we are using seem to be separating due to alcohol. If we keep the pH at 10, would it be safe for Granite / Marble ? We are seeing lot of stone cleaners with higher pH in the market. It’s really not clear if pH 9-10 is safe for precious stone cleaning.

We are trying natural Multipurpose cleaner only. We would appreciate your help. Please send us your email id.

Performance wise its not degreasing like before but its okay. My only worry is that if it is safe to be used on all surfaces although now it is Neutral?

Thanks for your suggestion and input Perry! I am looking for a non-ionic surfactant. Would Lauryl or Alkyl Poluglucoside work better compared to coco or decyl ? Also, for foam, would the combination of Lauryl, decyl and coco give good lather or do we still need to add capb to get better foam?

Hmm…That’s what I felt too. Which surfactant would you suggest to go for natural but strong for dishes? I have a coco glucoside formulation which works well but not strong enough.

trying to formulate liquid soap concentrate only. If you or you know of anybody who can help with the formulation, please email me or message here.

Can I use soda ash to reduce the stickiness? Would it leave any white patches on the surface? Also, Soda ash plus glucoside will bring the pH way too up and I might have to use large amount of citric to adjust or bring the pH down. Is sodium bicarbonate a better alternative?
