I usualy use it in  foundation/concealer/liquid lipsticks formulas for transfer resistance and comfort. But in my supplier’s dossier , I see potensial applications in skin care (creams/lotions). I imagine that it helps by providing comfort and wearability.
It’s an excellent ingredient in color cosmetics,I am not sure though,  if its price is worth it for the reason added.
*I mean for the reason added it creams/lotions

@doreen but it sanitizes. I think that in GMP for cosmetics it is enough to sanitize your equipment.I have never seen references of a need of sterilized conditions.

@Perry @EVchem HYDROGENATED POLYISOBUTENE improves the thickness of the system, I would say this is it, if it contained only silicones and oils..
    But water. Weird.

@Perry I have a question and would be grateful if you could answer to me. I use a lab scale and weight all my ingredients.
when I have to weight a preservative, for example phenoxyethanol, and want to use it in 0,9% in a total amound of 100 grams,do I have to weight 0,9 grams of phenoxyethanol?
Or because it is liquid, do I have to consider it’s desnity?
