can you please tell me where did you found the discount for this book? -
You are right for the cosmetics but for foods i think their prejudice is not so irrational.

Now in EU cosmetic companies must not claim on their products that are not animal tested, because this is the law and all the products are not animal tested. -
Nice idea about clever claims without troubles.
A claim that a product has an ingredient which has therapeutic / anti irritant properties but not that the product itself has these properties, is problematic? What do you think? -
We need a thread with strange / unusual cosmetic ingredients:

In the mandatory PIF (product info file) you must include test reports about the safety of the product. See at page 22 Annex 1 partA-10:
http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2009:342:0059:0209:en:PDF
Also some guidance - “When, after an in-depth evaluation of the safety of the final product, the safety
assessor does not expect it to cause any adverse effect under foreseeable conditions of
use, it is recommended to undertake compatibility testing on a number of human
volunteers before the product is finally marketed”:
http://ec.europa.eu/health/scientific_committees/consumer_safety/docs/sccs_s_006.pdf
About test protocols here:
http://ec.europa.eu/health/scientific_committees/docs/service_contract_20096104_en.pdf -
In Europe derm. tested is a claim that you must prove it doing patch test in an accredited lab under the control of a dermatologist (simple patch test - 10-20 volunterrs for 48h or HRIPT - 50 volunteers for 3 weeks).

Congratulations to the creator and the members of the forum.
Best wishes to all. -
I tried to teach people not to buy cosmetics only of their fragrance, without much success.

I use Deionization Column with filter to our drinking tap water. I check TDS everytime i use it. If TDS goes over 1 i change the resins. Our drinking tap water is of good quality without contaminants or bacteria.

Now we are waiting for a new technology to replace also the preservatives…

Thank you very much for your responses.

Milliachemist thank you for your response.
1. For label appeal. This mud is famous in our region for its healing properties. Probably at low concentration will not have any influence positive or negative.
2. The shampoo will be sulfate free: Sodium cocoyl or laroyl/methytl isethionate - CAPB - Decyl glucoside, some cationic, 2 - 3 herb extracts, xanthan, glycerin etc.
3. So maybe it’s better to add lower concentration, 1 - 2%?
I will search forum for similar discussions. -

MemberDecember 7, 2014 at 5:41 pm in reply to: Clay Masks and pH - How to avoid skin irritationI don’t have experience on green clay but i know that most clays and muds causes temporary skin redness due to local hyperaemia from their texture or heat - that’s why they temporary relieve joint or muscle pains. It’s not clear that irritation is due to pH, some people have irritations with clays or muds, many people no, but of course you can drop the pH with citric acid

“Aging is a natural process in which both intrinsic aging, also described as biological aging, and
photoaging lead progressively to a loss of structural integrity and physiological function of the
skin” (Handbook of cosmetic science and technology / edited by Andre´ O. Barel,
Marc Paye, Howard I. Maibach. — 3rd ed.).
Usually, people who have mostly left existential and erotic leftovers from the youthful age, are the best consumers of anti-aging products. A man who has lived his life, is not bother him the aging of his body. -
Also in Europe there are discussions about more allergens. Our labels are going to become books!..

I’m going to use it in my shampoo too. It’s written on the label, so everyone that has allergic problems can avoid it.

Thank you Belassi for your response. Also i have read that CAPB was named “allergen of the year” in 2004.

You can use a sterile clay but you may have problem with the spreading of clay. Eventually, it may will accumulate at the bottom…

Thank you all for your comments and clever ideas. In my small European country it’s a little difficult to proceed some of these…
I know the products that i’m searching of are not so ordinary as for example CAPB or SLES etc. But i don’t want to use alternatives. -
