Hello everyone. I dont know if you ever deal with Seppic; the french chemicals manufacturer. They have many types of emulsifiers and i would like to share them wiht you to get your intake on that. So far i only have Polysorbate 80 but thought about checking other emulsifiers becayse the result i want to get is: having an emulsifier that doesnt irriate the skin so P80 checks that; i want the emulsifier to remove makeup easily especially on the eyes and lips and without fogging the vision and i want th emulsifier to make the oil transform into a milky texture.

So these are the other emulsifiers i found for yiur review please

    https://www.seppic.com/en/simulsol-98
Btw what is the difference between an O/W or W/O emulsifier/I guess of my cleansing oil i will need a water in oil emulsifier.

    https://www.seppic.com/en/beauty-care/seppic-proves-emogreentm-l19-benefits-very-dry-and-sensitive-skin
can this last ingredient be used in the cleansing oil please?

So if cleanser is searched for three times more than cleansing oil this means that people in their research are not specifically looking for a cleansing oil they are just looking for a cleanser, correct?

Oh good point here; thank you.So the google trend doesnt tell me if a person does a research because they are merely interested or because they in fact want ti buy and have a need, right?

Dear Perry/ I perused the Amazon page you sent me and basically it shows the the best selling cleanser is either a foam or gel cleanser. But gel or foam cleansers are best  for oily to acne prone skin they are not suitable for dry and senstive skin and from a personal experience/I used a gel cleanser on my skin which is dry and it dried it even more and made it feel tight/So i learned recently when i started my skincare business that cleansing oil and balms have the advantage of suiting all skin type from oily to combo skin/

Because i telll myself okay so if even here in Morocco whats popular is gel cleanser then doing a cleansing oil liught not be popular although i educate people that they are good for all skin type/ Someone said your role is not to educate people at this stage; your role is to SELL; shall i go to gel cleanser or cleansing balm ( which are popular) or should i keep the cleansing oil?

    What do you guys think?

    Hello everyone/
I tend to read a lot and love to share my knowledge with others.
I dont know if you heard of electrolyte but there are minerals like magnesium, potassium, copper; sodium and chloride, calcium and phosphate. they are very good for your skin and are vital to the funtion of the body.As a matter of fact our body is made of these essential minerals. They are electrically charged minerals that help the body do much of its function.

I was digging a little bit and little did i know that incorporating electrolyte to skincare make the product more potent because they keep the skin hydrated and  keep a balanced PH level.  Electrolytes attract water, which is why electrolyte creams theoretically help your skin retain moisture. So is it possible to include electrolytes to my cleansing oil?

    thank you

I dont really understand this graph; so does that mean that people search more in general for cleanser than they search a cleansing oil in particular?
Also when people search for a cleanser; does it mean they go on google and type: CLEANSER?

Thanks Perry. So you are saying that it s pointless to just look for cleansing oil on its own to gauge whther enough people search for this term.I should compare cleansing oil VERSUS something else.

Ok speaking of cleansing oil; in your opinion what is  the most popular type of face cleanser and why? Here in Morocco in pharmacies and drugstores we find a lot of gel cleansers we dont have cleansing oils by the way except from some French brands like La Roche Posay; Roger Cavailles and few other brands like this but i tried the Roger Cavailles cleansing oil and i find it bland, its more like a gel to me in the texture not an oil.So this begs the question; should a cleansing oil hve the texture/consistency of an oil or a gel?

Thank you so much and i will open a discussion on Google Trends so people can share their opinion and experiences there 🙂

By the way Perry what are worms? Are you referring to the insect? What is the relationship between cleansing oil and worms?

Hello @Perry. Thanks a lot for sharing this result from Google Trends. Well to answer your question as to what i want to learn from Google Trends.I want to know if my products are being searched for by people. So I tell myself if people are searching for a cleansing oil then i might have a product market fit and this means people are interested in this product.
Yes awesome idea Perry; i will start a discussion on this topic as well/

    Thank you so much

Hi @Jemolian.I get it.So basically branding is great to build awareness of something we don’t know of but if i try that new product and turn out im not interested in it so even great branding wont make me buy.So there must be a NEED first

@Jemolian i was thinking of two points you mentioned as well previously

1-I asked why would the target audience use a cleansing oil and not a balm and here you said it boils down to branding, i need to create attractive branding to sell. But this goes opposite of what you said earlier where you said : do surveys, ask people questions why do they use a cleansing oil etc.So in that case i should first ask people what do they cleanse their face with cus if no one for instance ( extreme case) no one uses a cleansing oil do you think with solid marketing and branding i ll be able to sell sthg that no one uses?
Could you check this as im not sure i understood it well :)
    Thank you :)

Hello @jemolian.i THINK i understood now the story:)
So either survey people then dev a product and give samples OR give samples of what im making and get feedback.

    Hello everyone.

I was listening to some entrepreneur and he said that successful founder constantly engage with their customers and this is what drives innovation. So what are the diff ways to engage with customers? are surveys one way? what could be others?

Ok what about surveying people offline just to know what are their concerns, the products they use in their daily routine, what would be their dream cleanser like etc..
I will go from general questions to specific ones catered to the cleansing oil.For instance:

What skincare products do you use?  How many products and which of them do you use the in AM / PM? What do you remove your makeup, spf and dirt with? What are the concerns you are trying to address with the products?

For example of in depth; for example if the person uses a toner: For the toner, why do you use it? Which brand are you using? Why do you choose or why do you prefer that particular product? Have you used and previous toners or similar products before? How does it compare?

If you could make your own cleansing product what would it be like?

etc. so based on this i will see if my cleansing oil is in demand or not.Do you agree?

Because people could try my product but this is not an indicator as to whether there is a demand for the product. They are trying for free not buying. Im trying to think of it from different angles to be as efficient as possible:)

Thank you @MarkBroussard, i love your idea. So are you saying that even surveying people is not a good indicator of whether my target needs a cleansing oil?

This is the part where i’m stuck the most? Should i go ahead and make a small batch and test the market or should I as per @Jemolian survey the audience then make the product? These are the 2 questions that i’m struggling the most with. So are you saying that talking to people wont be a solid feedback, the only thing to give feedback is by handing out ‘REAL SAMPLES’ but even if i request feedback they might say things that will make me happy such as : oh i loved your oil but in reality they didnt. Imagine if i go ahead and produce based on their positive yet misleading feedback.

    Hello everyone,

I want to start a FB group as part of my market research but i don’t know how to attract people to my group. The purpose of the group is to ask questions and attract my target audience ( girls aged 28-50, who wear makeup, work , travel a lot, have an active social life, go out for diner with friends, go to gym, single etc..) How to find/attract them to my group? Once i do should i send private messaged to each and every one or just make a description of the group and explain clearly the purpose of this latter?

Also how to create a group that is friendly where people will want to come to vent away al their life/skincare and cosmetics troubles looking for answers and an ear to listen to them ( ME ultimately) ?

Can i get some ideas/suggestions from you please?

    Thank you :)

Hi @Pattsi, nice to meet you here and thanks a lot for your contribution as well :)

Can you pls explain your reasoning here?

1- USA is a great market but for small businesses i may find neighboring countries much easier.Easier in terms of what? Marketing is the same everywhere, you have to know who you target, what they want, where they buy from, what is their budget, how much they pay etc? So lets say i want to sell in Saudi how would it be easier for me dear please ? :) Can you kindly explain.

    Thank you very much :)
