@Perry yes you have right i read that if Lol has % of alcohol equal at 20 or more it will not need preservative.
-
@Gunther thanks for your proposition , so oil are not soluble in silicone if i understood you? and i want to know what do you think about articels wich said that using silicone close the fiber of hair so silicone is harmfull for hair.
@Dirtnap1 may be it can make shining effect if you can make your experience and tell us.
-
@globalwidget i think that cathon-CG can be good solution.
-
Actually i made the gel and the resultat of shining is quiet good however in addition to shining effect this gel has also smoothing effect.

@Perry EO can be used in pharmaceutical shampoo where we can use Lavander, Romarin, Lemon , Lemongrass…and others depend on desired effect , and can be diluted in vegetable oil and used in Massage oil also EO can be used in expensive perfume where we can find them as top note , middel or base one . “I made my end study project about lemon EO extraction so if you want more details you are welcome”.
@ngarayeva001 about difference it is absoletly normal thing cause it depends on extraction method also theire are a lot type of lavender so it depends also on plant type . -
@BeardlyGentlemen propylene glycol can improve preservation but it is not classified as preservative. You can use Cathon-CG as preservative.
-
@BeardlyGentlemen for improve fixation you can increase the % of pvp , propylene glycol is not preservative and finally you can increase the matte effect by decreasing the % of glycerine and propylene glycol.
-
@Chemist77 i appriciate your opinion, if i make it i will tell about result. I’am thinking about a % of MPG between 5 and 10.
Actually i add it in hair wax and professionnel says that it improved shining effect . -
@Perry you have right about what you said however vegetable oil is for sure more healthy for hair.
@ngarayeva001 thanks for sharing your experience actually i find in researchement that type of product can be good for hair however the experience is the best proof and i think about olive oil ” my country is one from top three in world olive production also our Prophet Mohammed adviced us to use it in hair” . About sucragel i find it expensive also it is almost not available in my country that is why i want to be sure from product before buying it. -
@Gunther i will try CAPB with % between 80 & 90 of surfactants appriciate your help whatever the resultat.

MemberSeptember 30, 2018 at 9:04 pm in reply to: Should I dilute sulfonic acid before neutralizing it with Sodium hydroxide ?@Gunther it depends on the concentration of your actives , from my experiences when LABSA is used the optimum % of NaCl for maximum of viscosity will be between 1.5 and 2.
for the Clarity reducing % of LABSA will increase the Clarity. -

@Belassi the using of saccharose syrup or glucose is not Random cause they are already used espacially glycose to make no irritant surfactant as decyl glycoside.
So about developping your idea of protein we can think about some proteines powder? -
@Belassi great discover wish we find something stable and have reducing irritation effect. I’am thinking about diluated saccharose i will make some experiences and tell you .
-
@Belassi have an idea about additives that reduce irritation ? it is a good idea however i never read about such additives…

MemberSeptember 24, 2018 at 5:12 pm in reply to: Should I dilute sulfonic acid before neutralizing it with Sodium hydroxide ?@Gunther actually i think that who have lower moleculaire mass should be added the last here meant soda and my explication that litel access of it in addition it is high base will give more exess mole cause (n= masse / moleculaire masse ) so the lower moleculaire mass the more access of moles”n” so as conclusion exess of LABSA will be more tolareted then excess of Soda.
One more other reasons to make soda as final add, you will neutralize many acids so it will be easier to add them all then neutralize them by soda.
For heating dissolving soda is very exothermic so that dissolving will abe to heat you blend. -

MemberSeptember 24, 2018 at 4:06 pm in reply to: Do I need a preservative for this formula (cleansing balm)?@ngarayeva001 we can think about espacially butter cause i find it best thing for increasing fusion temperature of oil blend with keeping lovely texture and benifetes also , but solid oils(adding % of fractionned coconut oil , adding stearic acid, and other solid oils) and ester ( waxes, some emulsifiers) and fatty alcool ( cetyl alcool , stearyl alcool , blend of them…) can be other solutions.
