MemberApril 5, 2022 at 3:36 am in reply to: help the calendula extract is separating@ozgirl I bought the one off of Lotioncrafter and it says water soluble haha ugh. I can’t find an oil soluble. can I easily remedy this with another ingredient or should I search for a different calendula extract that has been extracted into glycerin?

I would check out Lotioncrafter.

I would fight non inflamed with salicylic and inflamed with benzoyl. Not all acne is the same. The two ingredients are not in competition with each other but used for specific types of acne. If the person has a combination of both then use both ingredients.

Correct, not looking for a commercial lab. I am looking for a chemist who consults.

Thank you.

I see what your’e saying. So when a formula says AMP-acrylates we really aren’t sure which ones they are using. I’ll look into Rapidgel. I need that “fixative” for hair. Thank you.

MemberJuly 15, 2020 at 3:03 am in reply to: Product smell and viscosity changed 1 month laterSo I am new at this. At what percentages would you add what to stabilize this formula? Good to know about Siligel changing smell. Maybe I’ll just go back to xanthan gum solo. I’ll also do a microbial test to see if there’s growth now.
Thank you.

Do you guys test a humectant on its own in water first before adding anything to it to see if you like the feel? I am guessing the feel will change as you add more ingredients.

I see, it’s like making a Churchill martini. You just waive the bottle of vermouth over it and call it a day.

Hmmmm any benefit using liquid SL over powder?
