I am a Boston, MA, USA-based, former software exec (https://www.linkedin.com/in/lhood/) who started studying cosmetic formulation via the Institute of Personal Care Science (IPCS) in late 2022 and fell madly, passionately in love. (I also did one of the organic cosmetic formulation courses through a school that shall remain anonymous, and…nope! I want to save the environment too, but natural is not always better than synthetic, for sooooo many reasons!)
I have been focusing on hair products but am slowly moving into body products (and potentially face) as well. I am also starting a course on basic chemistry to further my understanding of the concepts.
While it would be fun to eventually launch a product line, I do this mostly because I simply love it and want to learn as much as I can. Also, given that 99% of the beauty industry is marketing BS, and I am incapable of anything but brutal honesty, my product line would likely fall flat. 😉
