I think this formula performs badly, sticky, terribly difficult to remove. On the hands, it may seem easy to remove. But if you try on applying on the face, adding water will emulsify the oils and it’s similar to the experience of trying to scrub off some grease from your kitchen hood. It’s better off justing using oils to remove makeup using a cotton wool, followed by a face wash to clean off the oils.

So what pairs well with Euxyl PE9010 to boosts its preservation effectiveness? Do you all have something to recommend?

How many steps if washing or sterilizing do they going thru? From jars, glass, cosmetic tubes, to all sorts of containers, perfume bottles and different shapes, as well airless bottles.
Are cosmetic tubes only fillable using special fill in machines or pumps?
I’ve always been curious how manufacturers clean their cosmetic tubes and packaging as it’s probably impossible to wash them first (e.g tubes). Then how do they ensure no dirt, or dust inside that might possibly contamination your product?

I also encounter similar problems with pH even before adding actives. In fact the actives were not the problem in making it difficult to reduce pH with citric acid. New Directions state that citric acid should not exceed 0.5% for leave on like face cream, 1% for soaps or wash off, 30% for bath bombs. My question is if you’re formulating a face cream, is 0.5% the max and why? For say cream masks, or products that you apply for a while and wash off, is 2 or even 3% citric acid safe, if that’s the amount of citric acid needed to reduce to pH5.5? I used a pH meter and pH strip to compare to make sure pH meter wasn’t off measurement. Appreciate if you can reply.

MemberSeptember 5, 2021 at 7:28 am in reply to: Can lavender essential oil have white color like milk?essential oils are only kept in aluminium jars for ease of shipping, particularly so if you buy by the litre. It needs to be transferred to amber or dark glass bottle to prevent reactions with other materials, and to keep away from the sun. Also if you buy in large quantities, always transfer to smaller bottles to reduce airspace.

Would baking clay at 180 degrees Celsius for 1 or 2 hours help to kill those nasties? What about using UV sterilizer? What is the best treatment needed to EFFECTIVELY STERILIZE the clay before incorporating into another products?

MemberSeptember 2, 2021 at 2:23 pm in reply to: Can lavender essential oil have white color like milk?Essentials oils are not milky. Some are clear, non-viscous, others can be viscous. Lavender oil is clear, and colorless. Usually they are sold in amber glass bottles, sometimes they come in aluminium jars in larger quantities and you need to transfer to glass bottles. This is not essential oil. Did they write their ingredients? It looks more like an emulsion to me. Probably an emulsion with synthetic Lavender oil and coloring.
