@Doreen I think with PE based Phenonip if you have a water phase I would split and add half to water and half oil mainly due to solubility of parabens.I think adding it to the oil phase in this case should be hot and shouldn’t affect emulsion stability.

Check C of A for microbial content should be <100 colonies/gram and no pathogens .No comment on difficulty to preserve clay masks.If you have have concerns run USP 51 and /or microbial content.

The Phenonip should go into the Oil phase:if not pre-mix with 1% polysorbate 80 and then add to oil.

I would suggest you use a preservative.The 1% Phenonip is okay.

Too expensive as high ratios or CAPB/Anionics are required usually between two-three to one.Salt is hard to beat.

Thanks but not sure of relationship of second/third degree burns/skin damge to UV induced erythema:also dose/response in same for AV—-cost/performance?

The salt should work fine with or w/o Coconut DEA so just do a salt curve.You may have to increase salt slightly after removal for next batch.

Salt as sodium chloride is table salt which will not interfere with your dry/damaged color Variant but you should get ingredients as you will need them for label.

conduct a salt curve at 0.25 to 1% and choose viscosity you need/want.

We tested dose/response up to 3% active on both pre/post erythema using 5 subjects but AV was mute even at highest dose tested .Fifty percent is quite high and what does I use a 50% concentration and it works fantastically well. mean?How did you test ?

If your system is anhydrous you are probably okay;no comment on honey.

@Zink Alkyd resin technology is the right model, unfortunately as per above, they are used in paint/varnish industry Now translate that model to a cosmetic bio-adhesive which will adhere for 24 hours.You can test bioadhesion as a function of time in the lab: we did it fr the stomach/gastrointestinal mucosa and helped develop a nice product currently marketed by a major player.

@JessicaMoon With all due respects,I think this is beyond your current expertise and resources.Having been involved in similar projects from synthesis through methods development analytical methods.ACS and INCI name depending on process. scale-up in manufacture, product development, you are biting off more than you can chew.Buy the herbal extracts for Infusion and save yourself considerable time and effort.

Some reasons are more important than others such as Peroxidation of squalene in sebum which is likely present on skin in the ppm range: not all potential comedogenic substances are concentration dependent.

Rabbit ear test is not very reliable except for screening http://journal.scconline.org/abstracts/cc2017/cc068n04/p00253-p00256.html I am aware of paper you posted above but don’t believe it(squalene in sebum is comedogenic at low levels as is oleic and linoleic +linolenic acids)) and if what you say is true, than why are you getting comodones with retinol?

Safflower oil is your problem as is Shea butter due to latex impunity.You can use VegieLight and small amount of carrot oil but keep the latter low as it adds color.We like the Montanov.
