@Bob, do you think just mango or pumpkin or papaya in liquid extract forms would still function as fruit exfoliators?

Would an AHA peel be considered a rinse off or a leave on?

@padech, Benzophenone-4 at pH above 6 turns yellow…you can try lowering your final pH to see if that helps

I might cut down the level and see again!!@Milliachemist, I know you mentioned Ammonium Glycolate for Thickening ALS….First of all, do you know any suppliers who distributes Ammonium glycolate in US?
Secondly, how can Ammonium glycolate help with viscosity? I thought it was just a pH adjuster or may be a neutralized version of Glycolic acid….
I appreciate your inputs!1 -

MemberJanuary 11, 2014 at 9:22 pm in reply to: How to deal with aeration while working with ALS in a cleanser?Mentors,
With SF-1 and SF-2, after neutralization up to pH 6-7, is there a trick to reduce up to final pH of 3.5 without breaking the carbomers?
I have glycolic acid in formula which needs to be safely incorporated.
Any thoughts? -
lol that really helps Milliachemist and Alchemist:)

@ Duncan, can you please explain surface Potential IIRC and how it effects stability?
@ Vijay, In my experience the combinatin of ingredients you wokring with wold change the color of your batch into yellow, if the pH is higher than 7. And, on the other hand, SPF with Zinc and TiO2 below 7 has shown instabilities.
I am not sure whats the right explanation for that, but I am hoping Mentors and experts here would have something to say!

Would PEG 150 distearate be stable at all pH levels? -
Does Pre-dispersed ZnO (for eg SPD-Z5 from Shinetsu) also need severe Homogenization ?

Guys, when we talk about photo-stabilization, does it mean discoloration due to light or temp?
I am working with a Sunscreen with AVO, OCT and OCM combination and it turns yellow at pH around 7..
What might be the culprit? -

Do you think suggested thickeners would work at low pH (3.5-4) ?

I have around 35-40 % AlS, 8-10% CAPB, little bit of PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, and PEG 120 Methyl Glucose DioleateWhat ingredient shall help me give some viscosity here?
Also, its a low pH formula, would that matter with viscosity?
